Café-Canelé, the perfect combo!
Sophies Canelé
Café-Boulangerie in Stockholm
In 2015 Sophie, a French entrepreneur from Bordeaux living in Stockholm, opened a café-bakery initially devoted to the canelé, a specialty of her region. Little by little she wanted to integrate other french delicacies into her menu and each week offer a new specialty. To launch this, a weekly friday themed After Work highlighted a city in France and its gastronomy.
As supporting visuals, Sophie wanted something very personal with colorful, festive and cheerful illustrations highlighting the traditions in french cuisine and landmarks of that week’s city. A way to bring a little bit of France to the plates of the Swedes and thus bring the two cultures closer together. The emphasis was placed on the French “Joie de vivre” with its conviviality and sharing to immediately put guests in the right mood.
To support this launch, I produced a whole series of illustrated digital invitations, which are broadcast weekly on social networks. The same artistic direction for each invitation but flexible in the choice of text colors. I worked with watercolors and ink choosing bright and rather light colors, to suit the gastronomic world, showing the presence of guests in a spirit of celebration and shared pleasure.
Many thanks to Sophie for her confidence and her positive energy throughout this great gourmet adventure!
